Our Approach

Creative. Connected. Comprehensive.

We believe organisations are
complex, dynamic communities:

Complex

beautiful, messy ecosystems with
interwoven webs of assets, systems,
emotions and capabilities.

Dynamic

constantly changing, with shifting
operating contexts and needs of those
they serve.

Communities

social tribes with informal and
formal structures, hierarchies,
routines and rituals

The Change Executive views organisations as kindred with the function of the human brain, and our way of working honours this complexity. Each hemisphere of our brain plays a unique part in working together as ‘a whole’. Each are fundamentally different ways of being, both essential and simultaneously firing through intricate lateralised connectivity.

Organisations are complex structures that cannot be fully understood by applying linear, uni-directional processes. We believe we need to use our whole brain to help organisations evolve. It is this new way of thinking that has influenced our unique approach to organisational change.

Not all change management solutions are equal.

We believe in order to create meaningful, sustainable change – we need to probe to get to the heart of your issue. Is it a technology gap? Culture problem? Process breakdown? Communication failure? Often what appears to be the issue on the surface – is in fact the result of a deeper problem, or desire.

Our approach is based on science, research – and extensive experience working with complex and complicated organisations all over the world.

Some of the companies that approach us know exactly what they need – they just don’t know how to get there. Others are completely lost and have no idea where to start.

We can help you at any phase of your change journey – whether it is igniting change by getting the ball rolling, navigating change through a difficult or confusing period or accelerating change if the process has stalled or there is an urgent need to move forward.

Each and every assignment we work on begins and ends in discovery.

Comprehend - the then and now

We riff, play with, and imagine what’s possible for the organisation. We seek to understand its intent, purpose, ambition and future aspirations – and reasons for wanting or needing to change.

We then ground this future into its current context, the reality of the ‘gestalt” – what is the lived experience of the organisation?

What is its current reality/context? What is the whole that is ‘presenced’? We ask questions, observe, do small projects, research, learn boundaries and listen to stories. We see the organisation, the work it does and the essence of its culture at play.

Connect - the now and then

We represent a comprehensive menu of opportunities for progression towards whatever it is the organisation is seeking to achieve – without judgement, nor favour.

The pathways to improvement are many and varied, not linear. Many can be taken at once, and within the limits of resources available at the time.

We seek to leave the organisation ‘response-able’. With the knowledge, methods and capabilities needed to continue to evolve and change its path creatively and courageously as needed and in step with its ever-changing context.
